Max Stafford-Clark

Artistic Director 1979-1993.

Max was Artistic Director of the Royal Court, 1979-1993 and of the Traverse Theatre Edinburgh, 1968–1970. He co-founded the Joint Stock Theatre Group in 1974 and founded Out of Joint in 1993.

As far as I am concerned, the Artistic Director of the Royal Court is the leader of the Western World
