100 Word Plays

The Young Writers Festival is just around the corner, and the writing is on the wall…in the lifts, on the tickets, under the drinks – the entire building will be overflowing with new short plays and we’d like you to write them.

We’re inviting writers of all ages and experiences to have their short plays displayed throughout the Royal Court building during this year’s Festival. Your play can be about anything that interests you. Just one rule; it must be 100 words or fewer (including stage directions). For complete guidelines, please download & read the ‘Submission Guidelines’ document (left side bar).

Please note, this is not a competition and 100 word plays will not be performed or produced by the Royal Court. Submissions will be displayed for reading throughout the building.

How to submit

The 100 word plays on display will be frequently updated during the Festival, sitting alongside new shorts by Royal Court writers past and present. Plays can be submitted to the Royal Court anytime from NOW until April 10th 2012. You can submit your play in a number of different ways:

EMAIL
Send your 100 word play to studio@royalcourttheatre.com. SUBJECT: 100 Word Play.

MAIL
Post your 100 word play to: Studio- 100 Words, Royal Court Theatre, Sloane Square, London, SW1W 8AS

IN PERSON
Hard copies of plays can be deposited in the ‘100 Word drop boxes’ located in the Café Bar and Box Office at the Royal Court Theatre. (from February 23rd)
