Unheard Voices Writers Programme
Writers of Somali descent
Everyone has a story. Everyone has a sheeko. What’s yours?
Write a play and have your voice heard.
The Royal Court is running a FREE 11-week playwriting group starting in January 2013 to develop and nurture new playwrights of Somali descent.
Each weekly session will involve sharing ideas, reading and talking about plays and writing exercises. You will work towards writing a new play, which we will read in consideration for production here at the Royal Court.
No previous playwriting experience is needed. To apply for the course, send us a maximum of 10 pages of writing intended for live performance on the stage. If your application is successful you’ll be invited to come to the weekly playwriting workshops at the Royal Court theatre, led by a professional playwright.
