The Royal Court Theatre proudly presents A Tribute to Look Back In Anger as part of the English Stage Company’s 50th Anniversary celebrations.
On 8 May 1956 the curtain rose on the first performance of the play that was to be central to the success of George Devine’s vision for the Royal Court. On 8 May 2006 the Royal Court will present an evening in tribute to both the play and the playwright, directed by Ian Rickson.
The evening also celebrates our People’s Choice vote where Look Back In Anger was voted the second most popular Royal Court play from the last 50 years.
Preceeding A Tribute To Look Back In Anger will be a David Hare talk celebrating the work of John Osborne in I Have A Go, Lady, I Have A Go.
