A YOUTHFUL PERSPECTIVE

Our 50th Anniversary celebrations focus as much on moving forward into the future as looking back at the past. Many of today’s leading actors began their career on the Royal Court stage. With this in mind we have invited two Drama Schools and the National Youth Theatre to present their own interpretations of four Royal Court classics in the Jerwood Theatre Downstairs.

SAVAGES premiered at the Royal Court in 1973, directed by Robert Kidd with Paul Schofield and Tom Conti.

SAVAGES deals with Brazil’s tyrannous regime – one which executes criminals, often following ghastly torture, to save the nation the cost of keeping them in prison.

Also celebrating 50 years with their 2006 season entitled ‘God Save The Teen’, The National Youth Theatre – the UK’s premier youth arts theatre company – return to the Royal Court.
