The Royal Court Theatre presents
The Weir
By Conor McPherson
4 - 26 July 2007
Theatre Upstairs at the Ambassadors
A bar in a remote part of Ireland: the local lads are swapping spooky stories to impress a young woman from Dublin newly moved into the area. But she turns the tables on them…
The Weir was highly praised for its rich use of monologue and storytelling and was the Royal Court’s biggest selling play of the 1990s, transferring to the Theatre Downstairs at the Duke of York’s in February 1998, and then to Broadway. It has since been performed all over the world and, in 1999, won the Olivier Award for Best New Play.
