Free workshops at Theatre Local

The Royal Court’s Education and Studio Departments are running a selection of free acting, devising and writing workshops at Theatre Local the Bussey Building from October to November.

Half term activities
Monday 24 October – Open access Theatre Workshop
Join Assistant Director Monique Sterling for this exciting 90 minute theatre workshop where you will gain an insight into acting, devising and drama.
4pm Young Peoples workshop 14+
7pm Adults workshop 18+
Cost – Free

Thursday 27 October – Theatre Family Day
Drop in from 10am – 4pm for an arts & crafts morning and story-telling in the afternoon.
Suitable for 7+ (children must be accompanied by an adult)
Cost-Free

November workshops
The Two Day Play at Theatre Local
Sat 5th Nov, 11am-4pm
Sat 12th Nov, 11am-6pm
A fantastic chance to create a new play in just 2 days with other local young people. Learn about acting and devising for the stage with a professional director from the Royal Court Theatre. And perform your new show at the end of it!
Ages 14+ Free of charge

Playwriting@Theatrelocal
With advice from leading directors and playwrights, this is a hands-on opportunity to tell the stories you want to tell and start writing your own play. The groups are open, free and no commitment or previous playwriting experience is needed. Whether you want to drop in for a couple of hours, or develop your work over the 6 weeks, come along and tell you story.
